"The key problem with the evolving plot line is not so much the plot, but the childish way in which it's portrayed."

Alien invasions all over again

Now there's a plot line we haven't heard before, aliens invade the earth and it's the job of these three characters to put a stop to them. Sadly the sequel carries out the plot line with the use of childish speech and a juvenile 3d comic book style introduction, it's quite lame and far from interesting. The good news is that such scripted sequences are few and far between, the rest use the in-game 3D engine for explosive action as the plot unfolds.

The key problem with the evolving plot line is not so much the plot, but the childish way in which it's portrayed. Granted, the original MDK had some wacky character shots, but you always felt as though the universe was a dark and sinister place, not some silly kiddie cartoon, which kind of spoils the whole feeling.

That aside and the game itself is still a lot of fun, albeit lacking the aptitude of the original somewhat by aiming closer at the younger generation, the jokes just aren't funny. Controls are very smooth and those familiar with the original will have no problems adapting to the new mouse/keyboard style, smooth and easy.
