"All the levels and models have been intricately designed and mapped, from the smallest details..."

What lovely levels, lights and textures you have!

SOF seems to us as being the most advanced use of the Quake2Enhanced engine to date, so advanced that you'd be forgiven for mistaking it as Unreal Tournaments engine. It's high quality textures, lighting, shadows, detail texturing (WOW) and reflective surfaces all go together to make something very special and eye opening. It's now almost impossible to believe that at its heart is the very same engine that helps keep the dated Quake2 afloat.

All the levels and models have been intricately designed and mapped, from the smallest details like cups and saucers in a kitchen to the realistically smooth animation on enemies and other models/entities. Thanks to all this we would consider SOF to be only just ahead of its class, having seen what the dated Q2 engine can really do, we can't wait to see the enhanced Q3 one! =).

SOF is best suited to a TNT2/GeForce/Savage2000 or ATI Rage Pro Fury 32Bit @ 800*600 or higher combination, although should look almost as good under anything from a VooDoo2 upwards. If you find it to slow then there are a lot of options especially for improving the speed.
