The
Baycooler installed easily and an adequate number of screws
were provided for the cooler and hard drive. Instructions were
also available for anybody who needs them.
The
Baycooler offers 2 fans, which is enough to cool all but the
extremely high-end hard drives. Besides this, it can be purchased
for around $12 from most on-line cooler retailers. 5400-rpm
drives are not hot to begin with, and the 2-fan Baycooler was
plenty powerful enough to further cool them. In my tests the
average drop in temperature for my hard drive was about 15 degrees
Fahrenheit. That is plenty for me, and from my experience, this
cooler should also be able to effectively cool 7200-rpm drives.
This cooler produced absolutely no amount of noise that could
be heard from my seat. That is quite a feat given that no other
hard drive cooler that I have reviewed up till now has been
able to claim that.
For
a Price of $12 this cooler is very competitively priced. The
Baycooler is such an exceptional cooler for the price, that
you will be hard-pressed to find a better deal. The Performance
of this cooler was standard, and did not perform any better
or any worse then other bay coolers. Whilst this cooler only
has 2 fans, an extra fan would have been overkill for most hard
drives. Overall this hard drive cooler is a great value for
the price. An unyielding cooler with an excellent price that
will chill all except the power house 10,000 revolutions per
minute hard drives.
