Interview with Bernd Lehahn of EgoSoft

"With 'X' already released in Germany as the developers are a German outfit, the English version is only days away"

Back in early 1999 a little known developer going by the cleverly titled 'EgoSoft', pushed our senses to the limit when they released a rolling demo of 'X' (as it was known at the time). The initial demo treated our eyes to lashings of special effects and well-textured ships flying around and doing their thing, however it remained unplayable. Later still and 'X' was finally revealed as being called 'X - Beyond the Frontier', a game that was set to re-vive the world of elite in a way never done before. Only recently the first playable demo surfaced which had many gamers in stitches and wondering when the final version would be ready. The demo introduced us to the strange plot line, updated engine and trading features. With 'X' already released in Germany as the developers are a German outfit, the English version is only days away. Currently set for a mid September release in the UK, 'X' is now destined to re-define the space construction and exploration genre.

Since then 'X' has firmly established itself among the gaming community as being, 'the one to watch'. Now it's time to find out a little bit more about what's in store come September and to help us we have interviewed 'Bernd Lehahn', the Managing Director of 'EgoSoft'.

NOTE: - Bernd has excellent English for somebody that doesn't speak it in native tongue, yet please excuse any spelling/grammar errors he might make for this reason.
