"The difference should now be substantially more noticeable and when you're actually playing a game your eyes will find it harder to focus..."

Now what we want you to do is focus on the middle of the top image and then swiftly switch your eyes between the two. What this does is to stimulate the sensors in your brain to become more aware of video input; as such it also helps you to see the difference between the two.

Forget the fact that, with FSAA on the jaggies are next to gone, and keep looking at the three windows in the background. What you should be able to notice (so long as your eyes are fine and you're not too old) is the loss of quality on the far brick textures. This is because FSAA actually causes textures to be ever so slightly more blurred than normal, something you will notice a lot more in-game than on a screenshot.

If you couldn't see the difference (more bricks apparent than with FSAA on and thus they are blurred out) then have a look at this:

The difference should now be substantially more noticeable and when you're actually playing a game your eyes will find it harder to focus because of the extra blur. Such is a sign that FSAA is having a bad effect on graphics quality, normally your eyes should adjust instantly and this is only with FSAA on next to nothing.
