"When finished we expect RF to beat Half Life hands down, it's taking single player first person perspective games to a whole new level..."

Truly inspirational

Playing through some of the tech demos we could hardly believe how wonderful this game really is. Blow a hole in some ice with your rockets, then lower a submarine into the open waters and climb aboard for an interesting change in pace and combat - all without a single level change. That's another thing, levels, being a game based on physics and realism you can also expect the level designs to follow suit.

It's a kind of Aliens come Half Life style and one you won't soon forget, either way the tech-ish look is well laid out and quite impressive in its own right. So far RF looks the business and it's barely even out of alpha stage. However, don't expect to be able to totally nuke levels, Volition know that would destroy the gameplay and so have limited GeoMechs use. The good news is not by much, just enough to stop people loosing the plot and getting lost in geometry destruction.

When finished we expect RF to beat Half Life hands down, it's taking single player first person perspective games to a whole new level, quite simply, nothing like it exists. Check out our exclusive ECTS'2000 footage of the title.
