Some
type of 256 bit engine
Matrox
has a 256 dualbus graphics engine. 3dfx should at least match
it. It could probably do it with 2 128 bit processors.
Higher
texture resolution
This
is another topic that has sparked lots of controversy, 3dfx
needs to support a texture resolution of at least 2048x2048.
Don't really know what the differences in texture resolution
are? check out our article
on the topic. Anyway, Among other things texture resolution
is another one of the more noticeable features to help provide
a more photorealistic image.
SLI
capability
YES!
Bring back the SLI. Just lke in the voodoo2 series, an SLI capability
would almost double the life of the "Voodoo4" card.
Some
form of texture compression
S3
has been doing it for a while now, and the visual quality of
it is excellent! So 3dfx needs to support this option to allow
even greater visual quality, and texture storage!
Superdooper
RamDac of 400 MHz
Better
for business, and lets us run our monitors at super high resolutions.
Plus, we would be able to run that super high resolution at
ultra fast speeds.
All
of these features, and many more could make 3dfx's next generation
card an absolute killer product. For the fate of 3dfx I hope
their next product is at least as good, if not better then what
I have stated here, and absolutely blows us all away!
Note:
Everything here is purely an opinionated statement. I got no
information from 3dfx when I was conducting this article.
