It
is mentioned on the Millisec.com
website that the VGS-08++ performs better then a P3D-5030 from
Vantec; I had big doubts about that. The P3D-5030 uses 2 50x10
fans but the heatsink is almost twice as big. I was having a
hard time believing that just the fans could make such a big
difference. So I included a P3D-5030 in the test to give it
a chance to prove itself. I used the Unreal flyby demo to heat
the CPU up to its maximum temperature. All tests were conducted
with the case open. Here is a description of my test system:

The
VGS-08++ did beat the P3D-5030, not by much though. This extra
amount of cooling power does have its price though, the VGS-08++
is much louder then the 2 others, those Motor One fans do the
job well but they are very loud.
The
regular VGS-08 still performed very well for its price and size.
Millisec.com sells it
for only $12, a real bargain. That is really cheap; you will
not find this unit for much less anywhere else.
The
VGS-08++ is a little bit more expensive, $21, but I think the
unit is worth every penny you will spend on it. This one is
exclusive from Millisec.com so you won't find it elsewhere.
