Installation
Installing the Pine D'Music MP3 player was no major hassle.
Since the D'Music uses the parallel port (in ECP mode), you
need to shut down your computer before you install it. Installing
the D'Music's included software was the usual point and click
as everything else.
It
would have been better if Pine had chosen to use a USB connect
as opposed to this slow parallel connection. Fortunately, the
download speed from the PC to the portable was not as slow as
we thought it would be. Download of a 5.8MB MP3 file took exactly
58 seconds, which is not too bad. Though, using a USB port,
the same file transfer only takes about 5-8 seconds.
