The
probe is hooked to the LCD display via a 800mm extension so
you should be able to reach any part of the system even in a
full tower cases. There is no option or special features on
the LCD. It displays the probe temperature in Celsius only.
This may be an issue for those who still work with the Fahrenheit
system. A small battery like the ones used in watches powers
the unit, and there is no on/off switch so the only way to turn
it off is to take out the battery. Also note that the device
is stable from -40ºC to 90ºC. That's a good thing for hardcore
overclockers who bring their CPU under freezing point, a lot
of electronic probes for PC aren't stable under 0ºC.
What
I really like about this device is the fact that you can mount
it anywhere you want. There is a little clip on each side that
makes it very easy to mount on the front of your computer. If
you want to know more about the installation process, read
the guide I have written about it. I also show how to install
an on/off switch.
I
would recommend the CompuNurse to all those who seek better
temperature monitoring. I would say they are a little bit overpriced
considering that you can get a good indoor/outdoor thermometer
for about the same price. But the easy installation and the
flat probe make up for that.
