Delta
Force was a wide open war game that got off to a slow start
but after a slew of good reviews started to churn out copies
like polo packets. Delta Force2 is the sequal and brings into
play an updated version of Voxel Space3 technology (yeah voxels)
that just happens to be called 'Voxel Space 32'.
Basically
DF has hadthe good fortune to have a wide fan base and such
a base tends to give many suggestions. In so doing DF2 was born.
DF2 features a new engine with realistic grass, 32Bit landscapes
and models, 3D Acceleration for polygon objects and a wider
field of gameplay.
Weather
effects like fog, rain and storms are being brought into play
for the specific task of actually helping to deepen the areas
of conflict. Such effects combined with new 'Wind' simulation
will allow the game to evolve into an increasingly realistic
element of play. From early shots and video footage it's good
to see that Voxel technology itself is finally starting to show
just how good it is. Comparing DF landscapes to DF2's and you
can easily see the effect 32Bit has had on them, they are smoother,
more detailed and finally starting to look more and more like
their polygon equivilants.
More
on this soon!
